The only other time that a Bass Sax has played with Tower of Power, was when TOP alum and SNL Musical Director, Lenny Pickett, played Bass Sax with the band. For only the second time in the band's history, California-native, Chuck Hansen, adds his Selmer Bass Saxophone to TOP classic, You're Still A Young Man. Watch Doc and Chuck play Bari and Bass on the eighth-note pops. The first time Doc played Bari and Chuck played Bass, together, was on Doc's most recent CD, Bumped Up To First Class, co-produced by Doc, Chuck, and TOP alum, Jeff Tamelier.

After all these years of playing, Doc deserves his own stunt double!

Artists include Emilio Castillo, Stephen Doc Kupka, David Garibaldi, Francis Rocco Prestia, Larry Braggs, Jeff Tamelier, Tom E. Politzer, Roger Smith, Mic Gillette, and Aldolfo Acosta

  • Thank you...THANK YOU for posting this video..!! It was such a memorable night when Mic dedicated his special song to my dad that night for his 86th birthday. I love the close ups of Mic, and seeing his face looking at dad. Thanks to the entire band for this song that night. I will never forget the look on my dads face, wearing his TOP hat, while this song was playing. Mic...we love you.

  • How can anyone dislike "Tower of Power"

  • Wow! this is real music - the 70s - keeps us alive!

  • This song reminds me of going to watch my cousins' band "Circle Band" practice (Macon, GA). My cousin Craig Simmons was the coolest cat I knew. He sang lead vocals; and played trumpet & keyboard. They played popular R&Band original compositions. Love you Cuz! It's wonderful to reflect, but not get caught up in it. We need more instrumental bands, it's a dying art. Digitally created music can never replace the essence of actual instruments. Young heads, embrace the foundation.

  • absolutely AMAZING!!! ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS OF ALL TIME!!!

  • Man, this was 5 stars all the way. Thank you. Made my night.

  • thank you very much. this song will live forever.

totally love it when they go "down on my knees" in all seriousness.

  • My White soul brothers

  • is Lenny Pickett in there?

  • sac

  • This song reminds me so much of my absolutely fantastic love of my life from high school. Unfortunately, as life has it,I was in the Air Force overseas and she disappeared. Dee Dee wherever you are, you were the best thing that ever happened in my life and I wanted you to know that. I hope wherever you are you are very happy in life.
