You got me wrong mate, what I was saying was Britain was never at war with the IRA, had the army been allowed to target and fight, the IRA would have been dead and buried in 1969. The army was brought in to defend the republicans from our retaliation. And their reward for defending them being taken out with pot shots and bombs. What government in the world would sit back and allow a terrorist organisation to operate against the state and not fight back? OURS!! and ours alone.
