Range, range, blah, blah, blah! Let it be clear to you that no king shit ranged 777 can beat the queen bitch of the skies, the 747!
-
@fawii Deaths from 777 crashes? 0. First widebody to 800 deliveries (from first delivery): 777. The stats go on, safety and cargo carrier utilization don't have an relation. To think they do it very ill-informed.
-
I wonder if this is still true if UPS switched to the new 747-8
-
@fawii "Did every body realized the there are no planes like A380,318,319,320,321,330,340 are cargo planes !?" There are! FedEx canceled their A380 orders due to delays!
-
gulp i thought if i said ups to the fedex guy who delivered my pakage would kill me.
-
FedEx also needs to add a non-stop Changhai to Indianapolis as well.
-
@fawii Because they use them as mainline passenger transport. They use 747's at the moment because they're currently being retired from the fleet.
-
@legomovies64 so why didn't airfrance use A340 & 330 as cargo planes?
-
@fawii They're not "unsafe". Some variants fly passengers on a regular basis! The 777 only came into service in the mid 90's. The reason that they are used for cargo instead of other planes is that they're easier to get and cheaper than buying a plane straight from the manufacturer.
If you don't believe me, Thai uses the A300 for pax, Almost every international airline uses 747's, A lot of airlines such as Singapore use the 777 and KLM use the MD-11.

Ok, so how does this work moving US to Asia? Just curious.

@LJettJr The advantages moving US to Asia are somewhat different. The payload range capabilities of the B777 freighter allow FedEx to connect more domestic origins non-stop to Asia through our Memphis World Hub (without having to stop in Anchorage for a fuel stop). Hope that helps!
