I just noticed that Mr. Lucas touched Mr. Humphries' bottom. They were one of a kind. One of the things I missed was their friendship in seasons 8-10. Mr. L. is a cool guy: comfortable in his own sexuality and was cool with Mr. H. regardless of his lifestyle and preference (I'm pretty sure Mr. H is Bi, but still). All you other "men" who thinks it's "manly" to bash others based on their sexuality can flush yourselves down the toilet.

I'm only 33 but sort of grew up on this show on public television, I can't believe only two of the cast are still alive.

To lay this matter to rest: There was NEVER anything offnesive to gays in this series. I am not only gay but I've also been a gay activist in my younger years. In general the gay community loved this show, and especially John Inman, who was openly gay AND a drag queen.

This was one of the best episodes. The series was generally very funny, but there were some occasional duds. Also, the later seasons were not as good--some episodes were downright bad: the series suffered when the original cast were cganged: Mr. Grainger, Mr. Lucas and Young Mr. Grace. Their replacements were at bewst mediocre.

@TriscuitFan Ah get over yourself- as you pointed out Mr Humphries making a gag about fairy cakes or the gay gordon is hardly going to make a gay kid hang themselves but you wont see that type of thing nowadays.

I was just saying out the times have changed- and all the sanitizing of comedy and TV that has gone on since the mid 1980's has been pointless- there's more hatred and community division than ever.

Read the last line of my first post again- I think it applies to you.

@notmemate Yes ... scores of gay kids killed themselves over the last year and a half because of relentless bullying, but you're more concerned about protecting comedy. Makes sense. Besides, this kind of gay-humor is not the kind that anyone really has a problem with, so it's a bit of a senseless connection you were trying to make in the first place. Maybe you shouldn't try to turn an AYBS video into a god damned political statement. Just enjoy it ... and it's aged just fine. Maybe you haven't.
