This analysis does not require "dark matter" to be distributed throughout the galactic disc or in a halo around the galaxy, but the baryonic matter required to make it work has already gone down the "plughole", into the super-massive black hole at the galactic centre. This black hole is much bigger than currently envisioned. Consequently, time is dilated to such an extent from the galactic centre outwards, that the Newtonian, relative velocities across the galactic radius are significantly distorted by the time rate differentials and by an amount depending on their distance from the centre.
This being the case, we must come to terms with the fact we are now living in the much depleted remnants of a huge galaxy already largely destroyed.

THE TIME DILATION FIELD IS ALL THAT IS REQUIRED TO EXPLAIN THE CAUSE AND EFFECT OF NEWTONIAN GRAVITATION.

NEWTON`S LAW OF GRAVITY DOES NOT REFLECT REALITY ! The "curvature" of space does not reflect reality despite its ability to make correct predictions. After all, Newton`s law of gravity also makes "correct" predictions without its reflecting the cause and effect of gravitation.

THERE IS AN ERROR IN OUR INTERPRETATION OF SPECIAL RELATIVITY. Length contraction due to relative motion is just an illusion but TIME DILATION IS REAL AND PROVEN ! How CAN velocity be held constant across frames having different time rates? Velocity is a time related occurrance or event. If you change the time rate, you must change the velocity, NOT the lengths.

The reality is that when you approach the speed of light, your clock stops relative to the stationary frame and your real or proper speed, your 4vector, becomes infinite. When you look out your porthole everything is wizzing by at infinite speed. Nothing has contracted in reality. The curvature of space can be explained by considering the differential time rates between frames and there is only one form of gravity, Newtonian gravity (the proper values).

I am not saying SR or GR are wrong. In fact they are clearly correct and proven. They make correct predictions of events. There are however a couple of common misconceptions within the scientific community which are not helpful to our understanding of nature. The first is length contraction and the second is the curvature fo space itself. Both of these concepts are mathematically correct but neither reflects reality.

When we correct the graph in this way, we see that the real or proper Newtonian speeds are slowed down or redshifted closer to the galactic centre and that they are speeded up or blueshifted further out in the galaxy. All as observed from Earth radius. The Pioneer anomaly is another example of this effect where motions and accelerations are speeded up when looking outwards in the gravitational field.

We cannot rely on our observations of velocity anywhere other than at Earth distance from the galactic centre. At this position only, are the observed speeds “real”, or “proper” in the relativistic sense. At any other galactic radius, observed speeds are distorted from their proper values. The observed speeds at Earth radius MUST be real or proper and so we MUST move the Newtonian curve up on the graph to reflect this.

From Earth orbit, looking inwards, everything will appear redshifted due to the slower clocks. When you look outwards, everything will appear blueshifted due to the faster clocks. By "everything" I include velocities. Rotation speeds will LOOK slower than the local Newtonian values when observing closer to the galactic centre. When observing outer regions, rotation speeds will LOOK faster than the local (proper) Newtonian speeds.

As you move inwards from the Earth's orbit, the clock runs slower. As you move outwards, the clock runs faster. These are real differences in the passage of time at different galactic orbits. This effect is clearly demonstrated by the satellite navigation system for your car’s satnav where the satellite clocks have to be slowed down before launch so when they run faster in orbit, they become synchronised with Earthbound clocks.

I refer to gravitational time dilation in the accepted sense. All mass slows time in its immediate vicinity and the time rate then gradually "recovers" with increasing distance form the mass in accordance with the formula;-

t = ROOT(1 - 2GM/rcSQUARED).

My point about the distortion of observed rotation speeds is that the formula shows the curve of time rates varying with distance from a large mass, in this case the super massive black hole at galactic centre.

It's Not clear what you mean by time dilation, furthermore your theoretical shifted curve is worse approximation than Newton's. If there is only one point in your theoretical curve that matches the observations .This makes for a rather poor start for any theory. I highly doubt that you can show that GR and SR are incorrect, incomplete maybe.

I've read Ken Hughes's book and he certainly puts forward some credible explanations for some of the mysteries of the way the Universe works:- such as - for starters - 'What is Gravtiy?' and 'What is Inertia?' His assertion that these as due to the dialation of time only and nothing else is throught provoking to say the least.

I am also not convinced that 'the fabric of space' exists - just what is that exactly? Ask any Physicist and they can't tell you.
