Very different takes on their discussion of the masterbation scene. Linda Blair said it had to be explained to her because she didnt know what that was....

@lev3269 - Don't you think it would be even more unethical to do a scene with a 13 year old girl simulating an act like that without even telling her what the scene really was? They HAD to discuss the scene.
-
@Encom7 :It's done all the time. Spielberg used a Clown on the set of Close Encounters--as a substitute for the Alien. I'm not taking anything away from Friedkin's direction ---it's just this type of discussion with a minor that sounds like it's crossing the line.

@lev3269 - How was he supposed to film the scene without discussing it with her?
-
Friedkin is a great director...but:
I could have done without the story, of an adult asking a child, if they masturbated ...just to cast them in a movie.
Hollywood be damn, masturbation is not a topic to discuss with another person's child...just for a fucking movie
-
@weyes08 yeah thats what she said...
-
@LVEMEDO Her parents allowing her to make a movie (note: movies are not real, and Linda was perfectly fine filming it) does not give anyone permission to ask her inappropriate adult questions.
-
@frankiehere2001 YOU SHOULD put the blame on her parents not THE Director being a MOTHER I would never put my kid thru this NO matter how much money they where paying me IT,S her parents that are allowing this OR he wouldn,t be able to do this SHAME ON THEM

He always appears so cool, calm, collected in interviews. I finally want to see this fucker get mad! He has a reputation of having terrible fits of rage while filming.
Someone is lying.
Linda said that during the filming of that masturbation scene she was too innocent to know whats going on.
