Because you ought to have the right to read whatever you want at the library without anyone knowing about it, but your money is put to better use lining the pockets of politicians, and keeping the poor where they are.

Income redistribution is justified-yes because military spending and homeland security is an insurance to protect life and material wealth, the wealthy have more valuable lives and assets so their insurance rates must be higher- also the biggest users of government services are the very poor and very wealthy - also graduated taxes are portrayed as unfair to the wealthy as if that is some type of permanent class while I thought class is fluid in the USA and in time rich and poor may switch.
