if hangul is the best writing system of all, then how come when Koreans hangulize PRIDE -- the best they can do is four pu-ra-i-duh

I don't understand what you're saying. What's wrong with "hangulizing PRIDE" as 프라이드? It is close enough,isn't it? It is obvious that no writing system can transcribe a foreign word matching every phonetic and phonological details.

@filipemtx Maybe, but ANYONE can learn to write and read Korean in 10 minutes, let's say 1 hour with all the exceptions... While Japanese characters, pretty as they are, take a lifetime to learn...

Right. That's why when Hyundai writes the name of their car model they use "ㅍ- 라이-ㄷ" The only problem is that transcribing it that way breaks multiple Korean transcription rules. The ㅍ simply can't be out there on its own, and the ㄷcan't be left there by itself. It just doesn't work that way (if it did, then Koreans wouldn't turn Pride in to a four syllable word)

We can transcribe like this

' ㅍ- 라이-ㄷ" It's much similiar to the pronunciation of 'pride' instead of ' 프라이드' That's why Hanguel can transcribe every sound.

The problem is pride is a one-syllable word. 프라이드 has four syllables. The problem is that in Korean circles it is 괜찮아요 to render a one-syllable word with four syllables, in English, however, there are more stringent requirements.
