  • I'm sure there are live recordings of her singing this song without the laughter, but this is the studio recording she decided to put on Countless Times. i think it's great, it shows she doesn't take herself too seriously

  • adrian!

  • susannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnna!! hello dear

  • while i dont think diane cluck is a christian, she does talk about some type of god (oh lord, nothing but god, nothing but god in the way of itself)-- and we will all have our different interpretations of that. how do you know this guy isn't talking about diane clucks concept of god, too? i understand your intolerance of christianity, but you should have some more respect.

  • "God" was never alive in the first place. God is a myth, a figment of man's imagination. Don't defile a real human achievement like the creation of great art with your superstitious nonsense.

  • @frinkianz Diane Cluck's 2005 album Countless Times is available on CD or digitally, directly from Diane:

There are two versions of this song on the album, sort of.

    Thanks for supporting the artist!

  • @frinkianz i love the laughter in this record - it always makes me smile.

  • @jc2342 You're quite ignorant.

  • Is there a version without her laughing.

  • hahaha. i find all this god-hating to be funny. if it reminds someone of god, doesn't that mean that their god is dead anyways?... i can relate to that feeling when i was in 6th grade and realized that i no longer believed any of what my catholic upbringing and schooling had taught me. i didn't know where to go. i knew i was still a student, but of whom i did not know and basically began to open myself up to learn from everyone, from all experiences and both the joy and pain of life

  • We supported Diane at a show in our hometown, what can I say? We were lucky to see her, talk with her, and this song had a profound effect on me. It became an instant favourite song, and I worked out how to play it as soon as I got home. I'm happy to say she's a very nice person too, and I hope to see her again. Matt.

  • I'm going with the more literal interpretation. A very close mentor has died and all the knowledge seems completely lost and nothing seems worth learning but everything that could have been.

My voice teacher passed away the other night and we were extremely close. I haven't heard this song in years but it was the first to come into my head.

  • Wise word Stevens.
