Brilliant idea of the popular dance rumba which in early 30s won the floors of all dancing halls presented in this recording in a pastiche-like form with satirical air, both by musicians and the singer.

  • I really love this number (best known in the Comedian Harmonists version). Livschakoffs orchestration is brilliant!

  • Here they make a sort of a brilliant parody of the kind which is fantastic !

  • Lajos Barany was an alias of Livschakoff.

  • Oooo !

    :-)

  • Did he stay in Berlin after 1933 ?

Danke.

  • Rudy Vallee had a hit with this song in 1931 in

the U.S.A. "When Yuba Plays a Rumba on the Tuba."

  • Livschakoff left Germany in 1937 and emigrated to Argentina.
