When clumps of cells form inside the vitreous, they cast shadows called floaters. When vitreous gel rubs or pulls at the retina, flashes occur. Floaters and flashes are more common as we reach middle age, or they can be a sign of a serious problem called retinal detachment. Get more information at http://www.geteyesmart.org.

I have this problem since end of Jan 2012.. I went to eye doctor, and he found retinal tear in my eye. He did laser therapy, but I am still seeing flashes, it is annoying. This monday i will go and see my optomitrist to find out if these flashes ever go away

Hello there,
I had a very bad trauma in my eye this Jan 1. First, i started noticing flash light in corner of my eye, and later i started seeing bubbles moving down to my eye. Worst of all, i started seeing them more often than weeks ago. i was in emergency at the hospital on the day of trauma, but they told me there was nothing wrong with my eye. Can you please tell me what should I be doing here?

@sergsrt8
when it occurs the are multiple small(0.1-0.2cm) sized lights, much like worms that wobble around your vision area.
it lasts for 5-10 seconds & then back to normal.
