Rokia Traore announced to play Womadelaide, March 2009, in beautiful Botanic Park, Adelaide. With her twangy Gretsch electric guitar, singer-songwriter Rokia Traore has transformed Western conceptions of West African music, introducing a blues and rock edge to a still noticeable African sound. While she sings in the Malian language Bambara, her experimental sound declares that she is not a Malian traditional singer, but a true modern original.

This is "Dounia". It is the "official" clip. Not WOMAD 2009! Excellent artist.

She was astonishing at WOMADelaide! A woman on fire! But this video's title is false advertising and should be renamed or removed.
