@euronick61 Thank you for your comment, sir. I have just listened to "Sweet Little Rock 'n' Roller" again [on You Tube] and I have indeed noticed the similarity between this great track - by The Mighty Wads - and The Dooleys' big hit from the summer of 1979; "Wanted". Shame on me for not noticing the similarity 32 years ago - when these two great singles were both current chart hits ! My hearing was probably better in those days than what it is now, and all !! (I am 46 yrs of age now.)
@euronick61 That is an interesting comment. "Wanted" by the Dooleys was - coincidentally - in the charts at exactly the same time as "Sweet Little Rock 'n' Roller" by The Mighty Wads (August of 1979). At the time, I thought that both of these tracks were great ...... as a matter of fact, I still do - over 30 years later!
I can't say that I have ever noticed any similarity between the two tracks, but I will listen to them again - intently (!) - in the very near future.
This is a great track. I can remember going out to buy a copy of "Sweet Lil Rock 'n' Roller" back in the summer of 1979, when i was a young lad of fourteen. Long lost days!
I think i am correct in saying that this single only reached #15 in the UK singles charts. It certainly deserved to be a considerably bigger hit than that.
I think that it is fair to speculate that "Sweet Lil Rock 'n' Roller" WOULD have been a Top 10 hit IF it had been released two years earlier; in the summer of '77.

@TheEctomorph
Its the beginning bit...it sounds like the bit where The Dooleys girls sing 'You're the kind of guy that I gotta keep away but it's alright'...etc
