A tour of Hollywood Cemetery in downtown Richmond Virginia. One of Richmond's major tourist stops, Presidents John Monroe and John Tyler are buried here along with a number of prominent state and national figures.

  • whereas this video is a short "tour" of historically notable graves, by no means is it an accurate representation of the grandeur of the place. albeit hard to capture on video, Hollywood is a beautiful example of the 19th century 'park-style' cemetery (before it was considered macabre to hang out amidst graves). if in the region you should make a point of going (especially in autumn).

  • Another not-so famous person buried there, but with a good story, is William W. Pool.

  • There is a tombstone with the Girl Scout trefoil on it there. She was the 2nd Executive Director of the Girl Scouts in Richmond in the 20's. A graduate of Vassar, daughter of a state Senator, and even saved a drowning man when she was 12! She died at age 27 from TB. Look near Jeter St.
