Sixty Million Plastic Bags - WWIII.

Adrian Mitchell´s poem ´Fifteen Million Plastic Bags (updated somewhat) is at the centre of this collage. At the same time it is a tribute to` Hitch´- and all those courageous enough to search for and expose the truth.
Amid growing theatres of violence, the life and death struggles to retain or wrest power; imminent climate catastrophes and further economic disasters here is a reminder of an issue that intensifies menacingly behind the scenes and pleads for some common-sense and sanity.


Sixty Million Plastic Bags

I was walking in a government warehouse
Where the daylight never goes.
I saw sixty million plastic bags
hanging in a thousand rows.

Twenty million bags were six feet long
Twenty million were five foot five
Twenty million were stamped with Mickey Mouse
and they came in a smaller size.

Were they for guns or uniforms
or a kinky kind of party game?
Then I saw each bag had a number
and every bag bore a name.

Twenty million bags were six feet long.
Twenty million were five foot five.
The rest were stamped with Mickey Mouse
and they came in a smaller size.

So I'll take my bag from the hanger
and I'll pull it over my head
then I'll wait for the priest to zip it
so the radiation won't spread.

DU munitions are not 'nuclear weapons', and they are very good at knocking out armoured vehicles. No one wants to talk about how they are also very 'good' at poisoning the soil, and water courses, and cause all manner of havoc for the people that ingest the dust from them. Mainlt the guys who fired them, and then went to examine the effect on the enemy.

Who would fight if they understood that 'our own side' does greater harm than 'the enemy'?

Another typical continuing cosmetic cover up where the sacred exingencies of war will vigorously deny anything. ´United States and NATO officials continue to state specifically that there are NO known adverse health effects from Depleted Uranium in the U.S. `Department of Veterans Affairs Depleted Uranium Medical project´. I celebrate this in the spirit of Hitch (RIP), and find it a bit ominous given the news about North Korea today. Yes, we need to honor those who uphold the truth and pursue it with tenacity.

@HerAeolianHarp Thanks for that and holly jollies. I think YT must be in a sulk as I see they are not updating stats as usual. I´m wondering if they have been under pressure from `higher authorities´ - in which case things are changing faster than we could ever have imagined! @Caspar33 I think I started to 'doubt' when I discovered the Puckle machine gun, with round bullets for Christians and square ones for Moslems. Apparently an ancient Papal law allowed un-Christian methods to kill non believers. Obscene? I think so. And so it goes on. When you bayonet a man, he may die of being stabbed, or bleeding to death, but it is 'illegal' if he should die of blood poisoning. And he is probably every bit as good a man as me. Or as bad.

I guess it would break a lot of laws if I even now talk about my 'nuclear training'. But I signed nothing to stop me telling my own thoughts on 'what to do in the event of a nuclear strike'.

What they did not tell me was the environmental long term effects of 'DU' weapons, which have been used in many of the conflicts where NATO has chosen to fight.
