  • I could be wrong, but I don't think you should be sharing those. But thanks!

  • Yes, you are wrong.

These tapes were bought by Robert from a fellow student of his who also went to Jack's class about 1997 or 1998. I was given a copy of everything that was part of TMI by my friend and instructor Robert. These tapes were not the property of Jack Sera.

  • If Jack Sera has since purchased the rights to these tapes, this would have to have been AFTER Jack closed down plus a few years later. Given that Robert bought these tapes, when Jack DID NOT CARE who taped him in class and, in absolute fact, PERMITTED such taping, then there is no claim on the tapes of which I have copies of, because the originals were LEGALLY AND LAWFULLY purchased from the owner YEARS before Jack may or may not have purchased them himself.

  • NO ONE, including Henry Sanchez, has defended what the Inland Empire folks have derogatorily described as "that circle stuff from El Monte" MORE THAN ROBERT. Robert has published more defenses of Jack against his detractors, than absolutely ANYONE on the Planet Earth.

I hope this clarifies the actual timetable context for the source of these clips. If Jack Sera has a problem he can email The Captain at americansansoo.

  • Robert, in spite of his later, and I believe correct minded, advocacy of brutal Old San Soo, ALWAYS taught the superb mechanics that he had learned from Jack, and ALWAYS gave credit to Jack as the source of the specific lessons' mechanics that were demonstrated.

And you're welcome. The mechanics taught in the clips I have posted are first rate.

  • Not sure I understand "old San Soo" from the more "modern" San Soo styles. Is the older style modified to a newer style that Master Woo taught?

  • Robert is a true defender of Jack's teachings which are the Grand master's teachings. Jack explains San Soo better than any Master because he has more experience: over 25 straight uninterupted years with the Grandmaster. People can criticize but their instructor never really trained with Jimmy or really spent more than four straight years with him.

Even JP King spent more years learning from Jack than Jimmy and was promoted from 1st degree black belt all the way to 8th degree Master.

  • Salute to all,

IMHO. Watching Jack's short clips, and trying to emulate his mechanics and timing only by viewing, is very difficult. One needs to actually feel, and see in person his deep understanding of SanSoo mechanics. I have one of his videos where he goes into more explanation of timing, balance, and coordination, and its very helpful. But short youtube clips are difficult to get a true perspective of proper mechanics, and particularly angles. Jack is a living SanSoo treasure for sure.

  • ok well..

    thanks! they're pretty awesome.
