Ignoring the relatively large concentration of Hispanic people in Marshalltown (the 2000 census has the number at 12.5%), Mitt Romney told a crowd of almost 200 that "you probably don't have a lot of immigrants legally" in Iowa. He spoke at the Best Western Regency in Marshalltown on Friday morning.
After a question on legal versus illegal immigration, he said that "we should not be welcoming" those who cross the border illegally.
Romney also told the crowd that "It's a labyrinth trying to figure out how to get into this country legally."
High school student Edgar Perez and his family successfully navigated the "labyrinth" of attaining citizenship. Perez attended the event with a class from Excel High School.
Perez has become a legal U.S. citizen after crossing the border from Mexico. He said his family came to the U.S. and have become "legalized" citizens.
He was unconvinced of Romney's ability to stop immigration, saying that there were too many jobs in this country for those seeking a better life.
In this video, Perez talks about his family and his community and Mitt Romney talks about legal and illegal immigration.

NO THEY WON'T KEEP COMING... as you say. This is our country. YOU are from Mexico or the African Nations or OTHER nations. WE decide who we should let into our country. You want to come in, do it legally.

Talk to employers and see what kind of skills are needed, such as harvest crops? Mitt Romney need to google "Megamerge: The Dissolution Solution" to read about a permanent solution to the Mexico-U.S. border problem, with justice to all and without racism.

The fact that the Republicans would rather pretend the past seven years didn't happen than deal with their consequences lies at the root of the agonising slugfest that is their primary race. Six elections into the nominating process, not one of their candidates can claim the consistent support of more than 25% of their voters. At present, their primary battle remains a four-horse race.

That guy needs a history lesson... oO He's pretty confused if he believes that mexicans have always lived in the United States and were forced out by Americans. Last I checked if there was any race we walked over it would have been the american indians, which are a completly different people. As for ilegal immigrants it stops when we put up a freakin huge wall.

What he said is true. People should not come illegally. Why should they jump ahead in line when so many people are trying to do it legally.

People need to see this "You can't stop us... We were here first" attitude. Also, the real labyrinth is trying to figure out what Mitt actually stands for!
