You're right jmsjedi, putting bats in your mouth has nothing to do with self defense as it's not self defense... It's mystic ! Indonesian culture is strongly connected with mystic. Pencak Silat doesn't mean only Self Defense but Self Defense is part of Pencak Silat as sport as spirituality as art...
