Reviews:

Watching Kukla, Fran and Ollie now makes it clear that performances were geared to grown-ups as well as children. Nothing from Disney or Sesame Street" can keep an adult half-smiling, even laughing out loud, like the Kuklapolitans. -- Paul Merrion - Crains Chicago Business Magazine

Some of the pleasure of watching Kukla, Fran and Ollie has to do with the high whimsy factor. But some of it has to do with watching your children chortle at things that delighted you as a kid. ****Critics Choice --Family Life Magazine

  • @singer9545 - I'm with you. But you know what? This show would be rejected by today's kids - and their parents. Not sexy enough. Not violent enough. Not profane enough. I'm sure somebody would be wondering when either Kukla or Ollie would "mount" Fran! It's a sad age, but it's good to see KFO available somewhere.

  • such wonderful memories...I wish this type of program was still on TV for kids who have nothing to compare GOOD childrens programs with....

  • we are living at the end of ages. It is sad because so many heart are cynical and perverse

  • Wonderfully gentle, thoughtful and constructive influence for kids. Today? It'd be laughed off the air ... not NEARLY cynical or rude enough for today's audiences.

  • The 1950s TV programs are class entertainment.

  • Paul Merrion is wrong. Those early seasons of Sesame Street could be enjoyed by an adult as well.

  • Whaddaya mean, no sex? Fran was probably my first crush. She still looks pretty hot to me, after all those years.

  • This show was on the air when I was a kid back in the 50's! Now this is '"Old School!"

  • How longs this show been on the air. I remember watching this back in the 90s for godsake.

  • @jeffrey65000 There's a Czech anime on the You' about ants... the spider of course is the bully!

  • Television changed when everybody could afford a television set. Originally it was early adopters and taxi-cab drivers. But once television became a standard household appliance, the quality of the programming dropped by around 90%.
