This could be the plot: it starts as something useful for self and altruist defence but after that Spock overplays and he pinches red shirts, the next are the officers and finally...Kirk: vulcan death grip is reserved for him!
...but it was all a funny joke told by the captain, and Spock doesn't enjoy this sense of humor!
