If I recall correctly, he and Randy had actually met in their early days and sat down to informally collaborate on some songwriting ideas. So Nikki would probably be one of the few recognizable individuals qualified to speak about Randy.

Randy's Quiet Riot also actually auditioned Nikki when Kelly Garni was fired from the band. There is a good story in Joel McIver's book about it. Nikki went back a long way with Randy.
