Dagon wasn't roman, he was Philistine. The romans called the sea god Neptune. Aside from that, christianity is almost entirely borrowed from other religions. christmas was a solstice festival, easter (Eostre) was a fertility goddess worshipped on the same moon as easter is today, the prayers of christianity follow jewish prayer structures who got them from the babylonians.
