The difference is nowadays it's not the logo itself that is the main focus, it's what goes on around it. With this classic ident, for example you've got something happening to the logo itself, but if you look at the ITV1 ident now you just see yellow fountains, or sunflowers, or whatever, with the logo itself just appearing over the footage which is just boring. Nowhere near as good as this ident. The Central idents are my favourite idents of all time.

I was so sad when they got rid of this, such an awesome and iconic ident. replaced with some two-tone "ITV1" logo. what is it with TV companies replacing awesome things with boring crap? like the BBC replacing Grandstand and its legendary theme tune with fucking "BBC Sport"...

I live in North Wales and ,growing up,I used to have a Hitachi black&white portable telly and I could just about get Central on a good day.Central transmitter=The Daddy.
