Malena Ernman träffar Mimmi, Hilda och Anna och utmnämns till Unga på Operans egen beskyddare. Unga på Operan är Kungliga Operans barn- och ungdomsavdelning. www.operan.se/unga
... and who will take over what we sing these days. It's very important that that tradition is passed on to you.
Hilda: What do you like most about singing opera?
Malena: I love music. I get so happy when I hear music and when I hear something that is fun to sing. And it's great fun to act, and to meet the audience, and to experiment. And then I like to be a bit nervous. It can be a bit scary to be nervous of course, it's not so fun to be too nervous...
2. Malena: Absolutely! Childern: Yay! Anna: Come and sign. Malena: Of course, I'll sign anything... My signature is really ugly, but it is my name, I promise. Even though it looks like - Mimmi: Here you go. Malena: For me? Are you sure? Hilda: And some chocolates... Malena: Can I try one? Hilda: Yes. Malena: I love chocolates, it's a bit embarrasing... That one - can I have that? Children: Yes. And a drink... Malena: Oh! Which one should I take, do you think? Hilda: That one.
"Unga på operan" (=Young people at the opera house) is a "club" (not a good word, but more or less) at the Royal Opera House in Stockholm, where opera-related events and activities are organised for children. Malena Ernman is their patroness and this is her "initiation ceremony".
Translation:
1.
Children: Hello!
Malena: Hello!
[They introduce themselves]
Mimmi: We think you are great. Would you like to become the patroness of Young people at the opera house?
Yup, I will translate. Right now it's 2 a.m. though, so translating circumstances are not ideal (=I'm very tired, lol). But I'll be back, don't worry! :)

Malena: Cheers! It was so nice to meet you! I hope it will go well now... And thank you for the flowers!
Anna: What did it feel like to win the Swedish Eurovision song contest finals?
Malena: It was an enormous surprise. It was very happy... and a bit shocked. I went a bit dizzy - like this. I really did.
Mimmi: How does it feel to be the patroness of Young people at the Opera house?
Malena: I think it's really really important, because it is the young who will take over in due course...
