The entire point of the "war on terror" is supposedly to protect American values, not flush them down the toilet, together with items such as human rights. Guantanamo turns the clock back centuries, and lowers us to the level of the creeps we are supposed to protect ourselves against.

This is hilarious, Gitmo does not work it releases terrorists and holds on to innocents. If this Saudi clown had been given due process then we would know why he had been arrested and why he should be released, infact this guy WAS Al Qaida and handed back to the Saudi Govt - way to go Bush justice!!!

Lincoln suspended rights because the union itself was in danger of disintegrating. I did not know Al qaida was seceding parts of the union, why else would a Lincoln be referred to.

What's really funny about this is he's already posturing the conservative outlook for what will happen when troops are pulled out of Iraq. Realistically, no matter how fast or how slow or in what time period we pull soldiers out, the house of cards government is going to collapse and chaos will reign. BUT, it'll be really easy to blame the entire thing on Obama once it's all over.

Obama's a smart guy, but no one is smart enough to avoid the traps set by the previous administration.
