Battlefield 3 PC gameplay recorded on high settings with FRAPS at 1440x900 resolution. I'm not gonna lie, this card cannot handle Ultra settings.

***PC SPECS***
AMD Phenom II X4 965 @4.0GHz with Akasa Nero v2 Fan and heatsink with MX-2 Thermal paste
Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Xtreme 1GB
4GB (1X4GB) DDR3 1333mHz
500GB 7200RPM Hitachi HDD
Bequiet 530w L7 Pure power PSU
22x LG DVD-RW
Asus M4A78LT-M
Windows 7 64-bit

I get 40-60 FPS.

  • If I want to play DX11 games like this, which would be better? 5850 1GB, 460 1GB, or 6850 1GB? I was told that the 6850's had better Crossfire support but I know for a fact that 2 460's in Sli are absolute monsters. I will buy another card for Crossfire/Sli in a couple months btw.

I have an i5 2500k and 16GB DDR3. My monitor goes up to 1680x1050 but I usually run on 1280x720 fyi.

  • @BATISTAisBEAST 5850s in crossfire do not scale well, but the 6850 scales really well. The GTX 460 does also. The GTX 460 1gb in sli would give you slightly better performance than the 6850 crossfire in most games (especially DX11 games).

  • Hd 5850, 4gb ddr2 400mhz, intel core 2 duo e8400 3.0ghz, I can barely get 20 fps on the lowest settings -_-

  • @ImagedOps your cpu and ram are bottlenecking your system!

  • @TheDiscProductions I also thought that :) Thanks ! Subbed :)

  • @ImagedOps thankyou, i need all the subs i can get!

  • my spec:

    core i7 2600k

    xfx hd 5850 1gb

    corsair 600w

    ram 8 gb

i can play this game on maxed out setting.....4x AA.......my FPS 30-60....

  • @ImagedOps its true. i know Core 2's MCH are DDR2. but i have a DDR3 one clocked at 667MHz (1333MHz) and my cpu are overclocked to 3.66GHz. plus my HD5850 is unlocked to HD5870 clocks. but even at stock settings i still get decent frame rates at 1080p no doubt.

  • @yoronihc You can't have ddr3 with a core 2 duo, silly ;) I fixed it later on, I get 50 fps on high and 40 fps recording, I don't see you're getting 50-70 fps though, quite impossible ;o

  • @ImagedOps how come you have terrible fps? i have a E7500, HD5850, 6GB DDR3 and i get 50-70fps at 1080p ultra settings. and you have a better processor.

  • should be flawless on ultra preset/no AA with this card :), even my 6790 running smooth 1680x1050 Ultra/no AA :) please see this youtube.com/watch?v=_QuELehKWRA

    nice vid by the way
