Very similar to the uncanny valley. Cats rely more on movement and smell than humans do. Large symmetrical eyes or eyespots get their interest, as does anything that might resemble cat ears. Those headbands with cat ears on them that are part of sexy Halloween costumes. bump into something while backlit from the cat's POV and the cat will usually react strongly. Do not make a noise with your voice, the cat will recognize that as a human noise and not be disturbed.
