The painter Jörg Immendorff is one of the best known contemporary German artists and one of the most political. Inspired by his teacher, Joseph Beuys, in the mid-1960's the young Immendorff involved himself in West German politics. The patatoe eaters think the same! Painting is more then yust making a beautiful image alone. If its not a reaction, or socially involved (or really pushing the limits of painting itself its mostly boring art...creating something really new' is very hard these days. There are no new styles'to be found anymore, thats the past.Its mostly been done already in some way.(cause they even thrown cows out of planes to make paintings'/art hehe.So our hard task is to make paintings that are of 'our time'
