@paupur or you could use a five string if you happen to have one. You have to modify the fingering a bit, particularly on the hammer-on stuff on the low E string (which will be played on the low B), but I got it to work.

This lick does not translate well to a 5 string. I've been playing a 5 string since 1995 and still detune the E string if I want to play this lick. It's easier to play and sounds better.

I was corrected by SlikTim on this lick, as I modified it and am not playing it note for note. Go to SlikTim's site and check out his version, which is note for note and correct tone.-Paul

can i play this lick with out tune drown to D?

You can play it in E. Just move it up 2 frets. But to play along with the song, which is on youtube, you'll have to drop tune to D.
