"The Great Flood" by Amerigo Gazaway

It's been one whole year since the Great Flood that hit Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Many lives were lost and thousands of people were forced to evacuate their homes. In commemoration of this catastrophe, my friend and I have made a song/music video as a reminder of those who risked their lives and volunteered to help. that the water was risin' right in front of my eyes and
if I didn't do somethin, then I might not have a shot at survivin,

by the thousands, some goin back just so the can see what to salvage,
downtown is a mess im just wonderin how this could have happened,

the situation is because we got too much pride and
if our neighbor is in trouble on the double we'll be right there beside em'
its the soul of a people, something inside em,
or maybe it's because they ask the lord above to just guide em,
after all this is the Biblebelt,
and so i wanna thank God me and mine are still alive and well,
they say that wounds heal with time, only time will tell,
but I know that I wasn't ever forget how it felt,
cuz when it all goes down, aint no use in just crying for help,
we gotta handle shit by our self,
it's the Volunteer State and we quick to supply
a helping hand to a friend and we quck to provide
but when the skies clear and the water subsides
don't forget, that was still a big part of our lives....
