Finishing the last Elite Chances leg at the GotDog? trial in Belgrade this past weekend, Finn becomes the world's first ever NATCH Swedish Vallhund in history, as far as I know (Canadians correct me if I'm wrong!)

My sincere thanks to all the Finn supporters over the years, the people who have stopped to tell me that they love watching him compete, from his barky bouncy start-line stays (sometimes stays) to his whole attitude coming into the ring and going out of it. Those are all people who love to watch him run and secretly are so glad THEY don't have to run him! Like the weekends when he pooped THREE
TIMES in the ring.....

All of our competitions have been in Montana -- and I sincerely thank all the people and clubs around the state that have provided us with so many opportunities to get legs and titles and awards -- from Helena to Hall to Missoula, Kalispell, Belgrade, Corvallis and Butte. I couldn't have done it had there not been such avid NADAC
fanciers in this state. Finn is a good example of the non-Border Collie or Aussie dog that may not be terribly fast but is fast enough; the dog that doesn't have those beautiful distances but has enough to succeed some of the time; the dog that isn't structured perfectly for the agility game, but who if kept in good condition can play the game just fine. I offer my Finn as an example of Everyman's
dog -- if you train adequately and persevere and just get out there and DO it, you can have success with the dog that you've got, with the dog that you adopted years ago and would like to work, with the dog of a different breed, with the dog of the breed that you fell in love with initially and want to work and play with.
