@Kirq do some homework type "crimes". It's apart of human nature. the Russians slaughtered people, the US slaughtered people, EVERYONE slaughtered people at sometime. The Wehrmacht was forced to work under Hitler, they had no choice. Fight, follow orders, or prison
@Kirq They could be against it or neutral to it. The Wehrmacht, whether they opposed it or not, did not take any participation in the persecution of Jews... most of the killings were done by the SS. Furthermore, invading another country does not make you a Nazi; soldiers followed orders. Most importantly, a great portion of the German population didn't even know about the Holocaust until the war was over. Could you call Schindler a Nazi?? He and many other Germans actually saved many Jews
@AMT4245 It's funny because I thought that whole Germany was nazi back then, otherwise tell me how come they murdered millions of ppl and invaded dosens of countries? Only SS? And the rest, including wermacht was against it? Give me a break.
@Kirq no. The Wehrmacht was Germany's army for many many years prior to the Nazi Party's control. Almost 100% of its soldiers were forced to fight. Story's from the allied forces and Wehrmacht soldiers tell that when a Wehrmacht soldier was captured, he was treated like a human, and was fed and maintained through his imprisonment.
On the other hand an SS Soldier and such would be beaten and abused, as an SS Soldier was a brainwashed soldier that either joined them or was raised into it.
