  • It was designed for that amount of km's, because most of Us people have jobs inside of that range.

I suppose that goes with most people in Eu also.

My workplace is 25 km's from my home.

This would be ideal for that.

(And you could always plug it at workplace's heating post, if it will be possible to put it to charge battery first and then start heating motor( like i would need it) and/or heater inside of car during winter)

  • Interesting. When they (GM) crushed the EV1, they said, that it's range of 160 mi (260 km) wasn't enough for an average american.

OPEL is a part of GM, and suddenly an average amercian, european and chinese drives only 60km per day.

  • that was a really usefull car, but some assholes are..well, assholes, i hate GM for this, and not only as well i hate SUV's, they made 1 car thats non polluting, and they crush them all, reall brain power....and 160mi arent enuff?? with todays battery inprovements the would run even more...stupid GM faggots! i hope they all die

  • Yes that's correct, but fuel you pay in the long run. And tax is not so much for normal non-luxury cars. But can you pay 40 000 € in one time? And I think this car runs on both fuel and electricity.

  • how much do u spend on fuel and tax:)

people always forget they have to pay 90p a litre for fuel:)

  • But the new working project seems to alow the ampera to go for 500km without stoping

  • Wow that's a lot. VW Golf costs about 20.000 Euros and it'sa very good car. So they expect people to pay double just for the cheaper electricity. I understand why they make it so expensive, probably because of the technology. This won't be a big hit I guess, not unless they lower the prices.

  • Reading for couple automagazines, it seems that it will be rather pricey. 40.000 Euros.

    Doh... :(

  • Because that's what the majority does, look for the cheapest solution. Not the most nature friendly one, especially when it costs more than double. So I hope they really keep the price down for this one.

  • Oh, then it's a great alternative. Although I think it will be very pricey. So most people will probably say, why not buy a cheap car and pay for the expensive petrol :p

  • NO it also has a small petrol engine that will take over when the battery is flat. The car has a range of hundreds of miles between fill ups if you use the petrol engine as well. As someone else has already said though, the primary use of this car is for commuting to work.shops etc
