2008 MEC Tour de Bloc - Edmonton Local

Urban Uprising Climbing Complex and the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreations are thrilled to have been select as the host for the 2008 Tour de Bloc Nationals. The 2008 Tour de bloc Nationals will be the single biggest climbing event ever hosted in the City of Champions. The event, sanctioned by Climbing Escalade Canada, the sports governing body, will attract the country's best male and female climbers. Despite the immensity of National event Tour de Bloc stays true to its grass routes beginning. The Tour de Bloc competition series is a unique series of climbing events that aligns perfectly with Urban Uprising Climbing Complexes' philosophy of 'everyone everywhere' as the format allows elite competitive climbers to climb along side recreational climbers during the qualifying rounds. For two days in May of 2008 competitive climbing will be centre stage at the University of Alberta. A special thanks to Vigor Media for their fantastic production work.
