Hate to say it, but the greatest bowler I have ever seen. Period.

Magnificent wiry build. These days they'd probably put him in the gym and turn him into another robot. Also, great facial hair in those days, the moustaches looked really mean.
Real bowlers back then, not like today's tiddly seamers. Oh my god, I've turned into Geoff Boycott.

@20shourya In the 1970s he was probably around 145k. In the 1980s he probably bowled consistently around 140k. He became deadly accurate as he got older, so much so that McGrath was often compared to him.

that was a good series for New Zealand until the final series started Hadlee didn't play and Kiwis got smashed but at least left me some happy memories of Lance Cairns showed what pure slogging was at the MCG

I didn't recognise the keeper - turns out it was Peter Webb!

@20shourya late 130s apparently.... asked him a few years back when i was getting some bowing training from him.

Anybody know how quick Hadlee was?

@TheMarathonomahos Me too. My all time 11 has him and Malcolm Marshall as the men you'd give the ball to most often. A wonderful bowler Hadlee.

A master class of skill

Great battle between 2 great allrounders of 80s.
Is this the game where David Gower made 150?
