@jackXcross I have a suggestion to get kangaroo leather. One, for a cheaper option,
google search charles hardtke, or hardtke leather. They are in Texas, so you won't have
to ship it overseas, but , you kind of are rolling the dice on whether or not you get a
good hide. For the better option, the one I choose, search midwestwhips. They have roo specifically chosen for whip making, and they are based out of nevada. Only
downside is they cost more than hardkte, but I've never gotten a bad hide.

Thank you very much for this, Bernie. This is how I guessed it was attached but I haven't been able to find much info on whips at all. Your videos are little lifesavers.

@jigglypuff1337 I figured but thought I'd say it as a just in case thing.
It seems that the reason he's not uploading a lot of stuff is that much of it is covered in his video that he sells,
so if he just uploaded it he would lose profit from that, and this this is what he does for a living that wouldn't
be too good.
Great vid as always bernie.

@jigglypuff1337 He never went anywhere, just didn't need to make any videos. I've been talking to him through
emails for a while

YOU'RE BACK!
Bernie, how long are the handles on a standard stock whip?

@Strankon I like to make mine 20 inches but anywhere from 18 to 20 inches will do the job.

Bernie! I just thought I would let you know that I made a bullwhip following your instructions (but instead of leather I used nylon parachord)! It is a fabulous whip and it cracks really nicely! I am working on getting better at it, and I plan on making a 12 foot parachord (because I can't get kangaroo leather shipped to me for less that $150) bull whip! Your videos are excellent, and you really help when I get stuck on key points! Best regards!

@jackXcross It's always good to hear that people are interested in this craft and are doing something about it especially from young people like yourself. It's gratifying to know even if you only make one whip you will have the skills to pass it on to your children in the future, it's the only way we can keep any of these old skills alive.
