I noticed a few droplets on the roof of the inner tent and beads forming on the inside of the fly at the apex. After dropping the inner tent I left it for a couple of hours but on checking ot I found that water had dripped onto the inner and droplets of water on the webbing and rings that the inner tent attaches too. The tent is less than 2 weeks old and hasn't been used apart from being pitched a few times in the garden. The rain was persistant and heavy at times but not wind blown.

  • I'd look at the Terra Nova Laser which is lighter than the Akto if you're happy with the transverse single pole design. At around the same weight as the Akto there's always thenew Wild Country Zephyros 1. Wild Country are part of the Terra Nova group, the Zephyros is about the same weight as an Akto, virtually identical to the Laser but doesn't need the 'Pole Hood' like the Laser and cosst about half the price. In the UK it's selling at £90 (rrp £149)

  • had you seam sealed the tent at all?

  • @matthewmartin1970

No, I contacted the distributer who suggested that it shouldn't leak. I was offered another flysheet but declined. The distributer arranged with the retailer to take the tent back and issue a refund.

I can't complain about the standard of service which was 1st class but IMO the TN Laser is a better tent. In case you think I'm a Laser fan I'm not, I hated mine and sold it after a month but I still think it's better than the Power Lizard.
