@deafflylii1 I saw Roy in 1980 at Keele Uni. Very, very good. But I do think John Martyn is /was better if only by the thickness of a rizla.

Roy and John are utterly brilliant. My point is that Nick Drake is unique, however these were equally great figures.

Yes Nick was unique but then so is everyone. There is a romanticism attached to Nick because of his early death. Had he written his best work or was his best work still ahead but never fulfilled? Who knows and that is the real tragedy. Unfulfilled potential.

Nick Drake is one of the most inspirational artists I have ever encountered in my musical collective. If you ever wonder if people come back from passing, just think of this: the music helps.
