@Osabeans I know you mean no disrespect but this is a hip-hop track so every line has a message. For example "when authentic niggas step up, respect be laid out" is one message, and there are many more.

@Osabeans I don't believe this song has one particular message. To me music (or any art for that matter) is a relationship between the artist and me. What I may think is the message in this song, is not what you may think, and there's nothing wrong with that. What do you feel? What do you think when you hear the song? That's the message.

I think DJ Premier's prime was Gangstarr. Completely flawless work on every damn album. RIP Guru. You have the best message, and if only people would listen to that now a days, people might act differently. It's such a shame that Gang starr doesn't get the same time of fame as biggie and tupac . Guru is/was on a whole another level.
