@1hit1derz Oh yes looks like a ford focus other than the characteristicly VAG massive front overhang where the engine lives, the green calipers (octavia vrs) or the close 5 stud centre of the alloys another VAG favourite. The skoda octavia vrs alloy wheels are a dead giveaway too. clearly a focus ;)

yeap let alone the current ones. besides this was a comparison between the hardest point of an FF car(mind the readers) which is the front against the side (oh come on we all know its a crash test but P.O.I is important to look at).
In which case I would say the ford performed extremely well.

they are compare a car with technology from 2008 and a focus from 1999
9 years develepoment skoda wants to show us that they have powerfull cars? make a crash test with a ford focus mk2 but no by side face to face

Both cars behaved very well :)

I own a 2005 focus, But yes thats a Focus, Shame they didnt use cars of same years, Focus has a good Safety record. Like to see a Skoda get hit by a New Focus though lol

If you read independent crash tests, side airbag equipped Focus models do well in side crashes. Without side airbags, most cars do poorly, and they all look worse than they really are.

I'm dissapointed. I thought I would see there a comparison NEW Octavia RS to NEW Focus, but what I see is NEW Octavia RS hitting OLD Focus... Title of the video sux.

Car from Europe vs Car from USA :-)
@lividity This is a Focus - what do people keep saying it's not? You can see where they have taped over the rear side windows and lights to change the shape of the car. Presumably because this is a Skoda video and they couldn't show a Ford getting smashed in it. Watch carefully at 0:48 and you can see a black cable running up over where the rear lights used to be. The dead give away is the fog and reversing lights though. This is 100% a Mk1 Focus 5 door hatch.

I don't see the relevance of the test, it should be front-to-front impact in order to make a comparison not front-to-side. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Skoda fan, I own a Skoda Fabia, but this is not a VS test unless it's done properly to test the frontal structures of both cars.
