That movie haunts me to this day. Best D-day footage I've ever seen. They got it right.

@brainouty BTW, he exegeted Bible seven times a week. That's 10.5 hours of Bible study per week. 40 years. So that's how long I've had to study the military history, from Saul forward (Saul used the oblique order of battle long before Epaminondas).

@TheLegorocks1234 No, but I have a ton of books on it; my father was in the War2, and my pastor was too, and I was under that pastor for 40 years (he's dead now, but I'm still under him). I had to learn math, science, military history, and a slew of other things to follow his frequent military analogies as he exegeted Bible from Hebrew and Greek. Still do.

when i visited the american normandy cemetery, they said that in saving private ryan they lowered the sound of the german machine guns by 86%. Can you believe the hell they went through, for hours and hours back in June 1944? Unbelievable...
