Linda lost John, her 18 year old son to suicide a year ago. She describes what it has been like. All pictures are of John with memorials made by his friends.

after a long convo with my friend, about some... bad things.. i decided 2 go on youtube and search on depression.. and suicide... I found this video... and it made me break down into tears.. To hear Linda talk about this... really reminded me of the things i might never even considered.. like the people you could end up leaving behind...

If someone blames you or him, please don't listen to them. It is an illness - depression and addiction. People don't choose to be addicts. They don't choose to be depressed. My prayers are with you and yours!

People commit suicide because they are insane, its that simple.

Other people lack to power to make other sane, only God can do that.

But a lot of people think they are God.

@NZtenga extreme depression IS selfishness manifesting, suicide...se;f murder is the single most selfish thing you can do.

I have been suicidal, I speak from experience.

I suffered extreme depression, medication did not stop me.

God freed me from the bondage to self, ego was the enemy.

You can;t see it because you can't see you.

There is no God pill.

I've tried suicide 2 an have been saved by my best friend 2 she's there every minute for Me. I don't know were I'd be now if it wasn't for her being the one in the crowd to help me^ stand up when everyone was pushing Me^ down. I could be dead now but I'm not and I have a man that loves me^ SO much and friends that care and a family that helps when I need it the most. Too often it seems to be young people taking their own lives and it breaks my heart. My brother took his own life at the age of 18,and she is right. Its hard to relate to others that havent gone through this. They may want to help but in the end the just can't understand the amount of guilt and what ifs that follow a suicide. In February 2011 it will be 2 years that my brother has been gone and even now everyday is a struggle. I see his pic and I break down.

Suicide is the ultimate act of selfihness, thats the real illness.

Its the complete engulfing of the self by the ego.

I've been there and recovered.

I am a recovered addict, by the grace of God ( and nothing else).
