From: http://www.youtube.com/pollylmt What do you do differently with a fibromyalgia client? Is it better for a client to see a massage therapist who has had special training to help fibromyalgia? is there such a thing or is any massage therapist sufficient? Thanks! I appreciate your feedback and videos.

  • This precisely describes my friend. She is achey a lot, can't sleep, has depression, and also Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. It's very overwhelming for her...is there anything that can be done for all of this?

  • I am a 29yo female. recently diagnosed with fibro/ chronic fatigue, my mother has had this for 30 years and I know a lot, but have questions about alternative methods for pain relief. I have consistent stiffness and deep pressure/pain in my neck lower (almost near sacrum area), what kind of massage and stretching would be good for those areas deep. I usually have high threshold for pain, unless working with trigger points.. I am more sensitive to them.

  • I am a 49 yo male. I have had deep tissue every week for almost a year. The Massage is helpful however nothing is longterm. I also had acupuncture with 50 to 75 needles per visit (average rip off is 5-10 needles) every week for almost a year. Same helpful result but results do not last longer than a week. I wish I could have married a massage therapist or win the lottery. I guess if I'm in the wishing mode.......I wish for no FM

  • I am a 37 year old male who has fibromyalgia. Was sick for 10 years and was diagnosed a year ago. Massage has been a godsend. A few things. My neck and shoulders are very tight, but I cannot handle deep pressure in those areas. I wouldn't do a whole lot of turning of my neck in odd positions. Like most fibro clients, I have IBS and bloating, so abdominal massage actually helps a lot. Also, my hips are often out of whack, which is common. I would not use deep elbow work on someones back

  • I have it acute. I love massage. I love the touch and love the relief if I constantly communicate with the person.

  • I cannot have any body massage on me. The last time I had one, I could not fall asleep because of the deep, severe pain and rash all over my body. Thank God it happened on a Friday night. By Monday I was better and ready to work. But massages are not appealing to me anymore. I am a 43 y/o male. Anyone with FM pain wants to have someone to talk to about it?

  • Good info Ryan I now have a regular client who has fibromyalgia
