I bought this TV for $25, but I'm not sure whether the problems it has are just convergence issues or something more serious. Despite much research, I haven't been able to determine whether the shaking lines could be caused by a bad convergence chip. Please comment or PM me if you know anything that might help.

  • @"Could the lines on top be a bad chip?"

I don't know but I like it (FX)

  • Only use genuine Sanyo convergence chips when doing repairs on projection TV sets. You can get parts and detailed repair instructions from sites like Tv Repair Kits . com

  • Where is Pico fuse location?

  • While looking to fix a television someone threw away, i also find a great track =D. Beating myself in the head... trying to find this song, but the lyrics aren't coming up with a match any where. Please post in comments, if anyone knows the Artist and Track. =D

  • change the convergence chips. I can actually see them in your manual at 1:32. They apparently are to be replaced with stk392-560. Search ebay for your best deal, just make sure they are new chips. If no luck, search mouser or digikey. You will most likely need to replace all the metal oxide resistors around the chips as well. If you don't, the new convergence chips will only last 1 hour. The metal oxide resistors are usually an oxidized dull dusty color w/numbers onthem and note the K means 1000

  • try adjusting SCREEN knobs next to the focus knobs for red ,blue or green for the lines.its usually in front or behind the tv .red for red lines and green and blue for bla bla .......move it very slowly mark the original positions before moving it.i had red lines i turned the red on screen tiny bit and it went away.but it seems you also have convergenge problem thats other issue.but try the screen knob option will take care of your lines.
