It's no story mate - it's the truth (well, IMO at least...). Everyone knows ragga samples and fat basslines sound wicked. It's like, one of the wonders of the world or somefin. You can speed voice samples up a bit or slow 'em down and time-stretch them and they still sound wicked, but as soon as you start applying stupid kanye-west effects they stop sounding bad ass and just sound ridiculous. Barrington Levy was not meant to sound like a gay robot!

Seriously, how can anyone honestly say this is 'awesome'? After all the efforts of the likes of Congo Natty to make truly awesome tracks which use Barrington Levy samples (Under Mi Sensi is a good example), who thought it would be a good idea to apply the 'Kanye West' robot voice sample and then layer on lots of cheesy sounding synths? If this is what Dub Step has to offer then gimme Jungle, all day long!
