Documentary follows a stabbing victim and a baby injured in a car accident who are treated at Ben Taub Trauma Center in Houston. This segment was taken from Episode 211 which aired on December 4, 1990 on CBS. It was originally part of the Pilot Episode which aired on April 18, 1989.

Well, that fucking stupid woman should have known better than to let a baby ride on her lap with out a belt or child saftey seat. I can not believe that people are just allowed to BREED and people are allowed to have babies even when they are stupid and poor and careless. Sometimes people get what they deserve. Life is hard and so are our lessons. Learn from other people's fuck ups and you might have a chance. The parents of that young boy should go to prison.

This was also shown on the Family Channel, so the more intense stuff was edited out. They showed closeups of the pulsing knife in the syndicated version. You wouldn't happen to have the original pilot version, would you?

Yes, that comment is missing because I am the one who said it. I also said "He missed it!" because we could not believe the knife missed the heart muscle. This is not the original pilot episode they shot at Ben Taub, the pilot showed a lot more about what happened in the ER. There was a close up of the "pulsating knife" in the original. It would be nice to see the original. Can't believe it has been 20 years.
