FFVI - Zeemis Hack - Neo-Ozma

What do we have here? Well, I've been following Zeemis's FFVI hacking for a while, but I never really thought about fighting any of his creations until yesterday when he uploaded a video of this battle. The fact that you have characters from FFVII, FFIX and FFIV in the party doesn't make it any less awesome.

So, what are we up against here? Many people consider Ozma to be the toughest FF super boss, but I don't really see the big deal. Yes, he can kill a level 99 party if he uses two specific attacks in a row (was it Curse and Meteor?), but that doesn't make it difficult. Only somewhat luck reliant. If you enter the battle with three characters able to deal 9999 damage and have the fourth one heal, the battle can be over in two turns if he doesn't use Curaga. It's an easy battle when you know the game well enough.

What about this guy here then? I got my ass kicked the first 10 or so times until I figured out what to do, or rather what not to do. Once I did, the battle was pretty easy thanks to his short and simple attack pattern. Let's see if you can figure it out. The failed attempt in the end is a huge hint. I have no idea what happened when I got stuck in the item menu near the end there.

One day, I will create my own FFVI boss.

At last, someone who agrees that FF9 Ozma isn't that bad. I admit, Curse+Meteor isn't nice, but most attacks can be dealt with. There's holy and shadow attacks, and doomsday can damage him whilst healing you if a) you have the right equipment, and b) you complete the spirit quest. Flare Star just deals 100*victim's level damage, so it can never kill.

My strategy for him? Use return magic and get Vivi into trance if possible. A barrage of Doomsdays, Thievery/Dragon's Crest, and he's dead.

Exactly. If you know the battle system and his attacks well enough, he's not hard. I've actually been flamed on Gamefaqs for saying he's not hard.

Yeah ozma isnt that much bad with proper preparations and an amount of luck...

you can even beat him without having all your characters level 99...

well i don't remember much of what happened and what i have done when battling him coz it's a long tym ago... hehe...

any way... nice sprites.. i'm a fan of both ff6 and ff9...

i also like the fact that they have abilities that matches their relics...

well zidane dosent deal much damage having xfight and dual weapons but he has a high damage resistnc

hes has one of the best superboss appearences and kicks ass by far the coolest boss in ff9

ozma is the lamest superboss appearance, its very uninspired and just a stupid ball, but he still kicks ass.

Ozma looks like a evil color changing marble on the Final Fantasy IX version. On here, it's the same disturbing boss.

I've been working on my "Final Fantasy: Revelations" (FF6 Hack) with a similar concept to what Dissidia did longer than Dissidia's been around. :p
