Tamil Nadu in state-wide Human Chain protest against the Genocide of Eelam Tamils

CHENNAI Tens of thousands of people from all segment of the community marched in the streets of Chennai and beyond on Friday October 25 on a Human chain Protest to voice their serious concern over the plight of their brethren in Sri Lanka.




People formed a 60 km long 'human chain,' to prevail upon the Centre to ensure a ceasefire between the Army and LTTE in Sri Lanka. The general public formed the human chain, from Royapuram in North Chennai upto Chengelpet in Kancheepuram district. Karunanidhi inaugurated the human chain at Royapuram.

The Tamils of Sri Lanka thank Tamil Nadu for their solidarity. The Tamils are a small and vulnerable group who cant count on anyone else to fight for us and therefore must defend eachother. I hope that the Tamil community learn from these experiences and will become a community who stand up for all the persecuted, brutalised and villafied peoples such as those in Kashmire and the next Rwanda or Seberenica

Although i love the comments from fellow eelam citizens appreciating the indian tamils contribution, what else did you expect?

All tamils amongst this world are 1, we all originated in tamil nadu, and our population was slowly distributed in other areas of asia. Same religion(s), culture, script, customs, traditions, language, formalities etc,

The only thing different between Indian Tamils and Sri Lankan Tamils are the different slangs and accents, which also doesn't hinder communication
