Here is the opening section of The Trees by Rush, from the album Hemispheres. The guitar is played by the harp, and the bass is played by the double bass.

The entire song is played by one procedural circuit. The current passes from the switch to the last note in a coiled, but continuous single line of redstone. Every note block plays only once.

The delay circuits are repeaters of my own design. They uses slightly more redstone than the standard 3-block horizontal repeater, but are 2 shorter in the direction of current flow, allowing greater note density in the xy plane. It's not very efficient, but it works.

@LoonieBin Oh merde, that would take a long time; what you see here probably took around 20-30 hours. But I did make this before I knew about MCEdit. I could copy/paste a blank chord circuit for every 8th note, and then just tune the note blocks manually. Still though, that would take a long time.
