Wow both brothers are truly talented painters. Andreas Achenbach paintings seem much more dark than of his brother in my opinion. Thank you!

Maybe those of Oswald seem lighter because of the Italian locations. Andreas seemed to like painting those stormy northern seas. Some of these are of the Norwegian coast.

Oh my, thank you so much, Barry, for the compliment. I do try to match the music and it's not always easy, I can tell you. This is probably my favorite symphony by Schumann, the "Rhenish".
